Robert Fulton was a man of many ideas. His version of a panoramic tower with a lifelike scene inside became very popular even though his submarine project literally sank. Although discouraged, Fulton never gave up. His plans for underwater missiles may have bombed, but his steamboat project was a great success. This book tells the important story of this dedicated and talented inventor. It is intended for early readers. The print is relatively large, the sentence structure is simple, and the chapters are short. There are many photographs, and interesting facts are interspersed throughout the book. Additionally, the book contains a glossary, index, timeline, and list of sources for additional information. This book would certainly interest any young reader, especially one who is seeking information about famous inventors and inventions. It is part of the "Our People" series. 2003, The Child's World,
