Russia and A Ticket to Russia,are basically the same, with A Ticket to Russia, written for a younger child, and Russia written with more detail for older kids. Tit is the first in an upcoming series of sixteen "Globetrotter Club" books designed to introduce a foreign country to primary aged children. This book is entertaining, informative, well designed and well researched. Colored photos and drawings accompany the text. Topics covered include geography, history, family life, school days, language and foods. A glossary of Russian terms, a pronunciation guide and a bibliography for further reading complete the book.

About the Author, Thomas Streissguth

Tom Streissguth lives in Florida and works as a writer and editor. He has written more than twenty-five non-fiction books for young people, including biographies and books on history and geography. His volumes in the Biography® series include Legends of Dracula, Jesse Owens, Queen Cleopatra, Jack London, and Edgar Allan Poe. Mr. Streissguth has also written several Visual Geography Series titles including Argentina in Pictures, Costa Rica in Pictures, and Brazil in Pictures as well as scripts for television.
