About the Author, Gary Griggs

Gary Griggs, professor of Earth sciences and director of the Institute for Marine Sciences at UC Santa Cruz, and architect Deepika Shrestha Ross have gathered amazing historical images, juxtaposing them with those same sites today, to document the slow-motion drama of Santa Cruz County's ever-changing edge. Comparing our present to our past is how we understand our history.
