Synopsis

Few tasks are as daunting as settling an estate. The person to whom the job falls usually faces a seemingly impenetrable maze. How to begin? Is a lawyer necessary? Where to turn for help?

This book guides the lay person through the process as simply and easily as possible. It not only explains the various types of estate settlements-from the simple to the complex-but it offers step-by-step guidelines to lead the reader through them. Tips on keeping accurate records, settling disputes, choosing lawyers and accountants are also included. A final chapter explains what to do to make sure that the your own estate is settled according to your wishes.

Young has extensively updated the book to include all changes in law and procedure through the year 2000.
