Editorials

School Library Journal

Gr 1-3Three math titles packaged in the format that DK and the "I Spy" books (Scholastic) have made so popular. Each highly visual double-page spread includes problems to solve; questions to answer; and, in most cases, a related game or activity. The concepts are adequately presented; but the children who will be most attracted by the brightly colored pictures of toys and dolls will be too young to handle the math involved. Many of the pages are so busy that youngsters may become distracted. This math series is attractive, but the minuses outweigh the plusses.JoAnn Rees, Sunnyvale Public Library, CA
