Each book begins with a "Word Hunt" spread that features seven words, their pronunciations, and accompanying photos that direct readers to look for the words in bold in the text. Young readers will take pleasure in learning simple facts while discovering new words along the way. On each spread a paragraph or two of text faces a captioned full-page photo. These full-color pictures show the featured conditions, as well as a variety of outdoor scenes of children and adults enjoying nature. For example, Wild Weather has a photo of a hand holding large balls of hail. Very simple presentations for beginning readers.
