Overview

A multi-layered and provocative view of 60s counterculture seen through the eyes of call girl Jilly O’Sullivan, based on diaries kept by the author’s real mother. Tainted Love charts Jilly’s ‘progress’ from 16-year-old hostess in a gentleman’s club in London’s Soho right through to flirting with Black Power activists and mixing with the likes of Alexander Trocchi, Brian Jones and John Lennon in the seedy drug culture of the Notting Hill hippie community. This is the story of what happened to the flower children after the party was over.
