About the Author, edel Classics GmbH

Jim Zimmermann was born in Offenbach am Main, Germany, in 1948 and has lived since 1969 in Stuttgart. He gave up his profession as an architect in favor of his passion for photography. Every image in which he captures live, authentic life and feeling makes amends for his existential insecurity. Since 1987 he has been observing couples dancing the Argentinean tango, including performers at the best international level. He believes that to photograph the tango well, it is necessary to love it and dance it oneself. He takes the same approach to the subjects of his portraits, the models he uses for his body portraits, musicians, and actors. A good photograph is like a poem that one wants to read again.
