Overview

After nearly eight years in prison, sports superagent Tank Black tells his story for the first time in his memoir entitled TANKED! It's the true tale of his inspiring rise and the mistakes and failings that caused his crash, conviction, and imprisonment. Tank tells the stories behind the stories of some of football's most famous and notorious players, revealing for the first time details involving murder, arson, pregnant girlfriends, greedy and manipulative parents, and the brazen corruption of the NFL Players Association and college sports. Tank also details his own mistakes and explains the pressure involved in getting to and staying on the top of the agent profession. He chronicles his experiences with players in strip clubs and how easy it is to get caught up in the fast lane. This is an expose of the seamy underbelly of professional sports as told by its most infamous superagent.

Synopsis

Behind the Scenes with the NFL’s Biggest Stars by the Game’s Most Infamous Super Agent In the span of one year, William "Tank" Black went from setting the record for having the most first-round picks in the NFL draft represented by a single agent, to sitting behind bars on accusations of stealing from his clients, money laundering, securities fraud, and illegally paying money to college players to win their business. Now for the first time after nearly eight years in prison, Black sets the record straight and reveals the truth of his inspiring rise, and the behind-the-scenes dealings with some of the sport’s biggest stars—Vince Carter, Sterling Sharpe, Jevon Kearse, Fred Taylor, Rae Carruth, and Carl Banks, to name a few—as well as the curious role the NFL Players Association had in his sudden, catastrophic fall from prominence.
