The aim of the series is to demonstrate the major advances made in the understanding of headache, each volume focusing on a major field of headache research. Resulting from the Third International Headache Research Seminar, held in Copenhagen in November 1992, the present volume is the first scientifically based book that focuses exclusively on tension-type headache. The volume is divided into six sections: clinical features and epidemiology; experimental studies of myofascial nociception; pathology, pharmacology, and biochemistry; central mechanisms of tension-type headache; peripheral mechanisms; and therapeutic aspects. Each section concludes with a discussion summary. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
