Overview

We have been taught to work hard so we can get ahead, and make more money. We are told to stay with it so we can be a good example. Why is there so much to be sad about in most jobs? Shouldn’t I be a full time church worker to really make my life count for something? You may also have questions like: Why does it seem that God doesn’t know or care about my career? Why is most of my job just plain tedious? Why am I so unfilled in my job? Why isn’t my pastor or priest able to relate to my workplace problems? This book traces the biblical sweep of teaching on work in a comprehensive summary of why you can be not only comfortable, but can know you are fulfilling God’s calling on your life in the secular setting. It also attacks the question of why the church has been so silent regarding its members involvement in secular work.
