Editorials

Library Journal

An Internet book specifically for photographers is long overdue. While knowledgeable photographers may use their web browsers to locate information related to their field, this immensely valuable work offers a systematic overview and step-by-step introduction. The book logically begins with a definition of the Internet, then turns to software selection and advice on "getting connected." The most valuable portions of the book are the recommendations on various web sites for manufacturers of equipment and materials, photographic information, and other photographers, as well as several chapters on doing business on the Internet. The visual nature of photography, particularly the digitizing of images, raises serious questions of copyright violation or "cyber theft," which is addressed here as well. This highly useful manual is the only comprehensive book on its subject to date. Reasonably priced, especially given the abundance of good, practical information, it belongs in all photography collections. Highly recommended for all libraries.Raymond Bial, Parkland Coll.
