Gr 5-8These series entries offer synopses of causes, battles, and outcomes of three American wars. Central to these volumes, done in a format similar to the "First Person America" series (21st Century), are quotes from primary sources. Through the words of familiar and unknown speakers, minor and significant insights are revealed. The personal accounts range from moving to amusing, and some unusual statistics are cited. Small, full-color and black-and-white reproductions illustrate the books, all of which contain source notes.
