Library Journal

It is difficult to give much credibility to an author whose advice to those concerned about AIDS is to only sleep with virgins, and who describes homosexuality (and any unmarried sex) as sinful. This well-meaning but heavily religious, disorganized, and anecdotal collection by a British physician is not recommended. Far better to be sure your collection has the Surgeon General's Report on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (Public Health Service, 1987, Sudocs HE20.9002 Ac7), Randy Shilts's And the Band Played On ( LJ 11/15/87), and a selection of the brochures (mostly from the Centers for Disease Control) available from the National AIDS Information Clearinghouse, PO Box 6003, Rockville, MD 20850.-- Mary Chitty, Massachusetts Coll. of Pharmacy & Allied Health Sciences Lib., Boston
