Synopsis

First published in 1937, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill was a revolutionary inspiration in the self-help genre. After conducting two decades of research, during which Hill gathered both data and wisdom from the United States' leading financially successful men and women, he placed the resulting teachings into a single book for the first time. His work meant that every reader could take the information and use it to have the same chance at financial success as some of the nation's richest people. The idea for the landmark work started when Hill, a struggling journalist, was asked by famous industrialist Andrew Carnegie to compile a Philosophy of Personal Achievement. Hill interviewed over five-hundred people, including Thomas Edison, John Rockefeller, and Charles M. Schwab, compiling their experiences into a sort of handbook for success. The resulting work, "Think and Grow Rich," was first published during the Great Depression. The book is listed as the sixth best-selling paperback business book on "BusinessWeek Magazine's Best-Seller List," and it is still as significant as it was over seventy years ago. However, "Think and Grow Rich" was more than a mere get-rich-quick book for those in the business industry. Instead, Hill's philosophy helped guide readers to be prosperous in both life and happiness. Its teachings can be applied to any field of work and its success is attributed to the positive word of mouth popularity and rave reviews it received. Although some of his examples are not directly applicable to the modern era, the philosophy is as relevant today as it was over 75 years ago. Contained in this volume is a reprinting of the original first edition.
