Written with bold vocabulary words and a glossary, readers are treated to a visual delight. For today's young readers, this may be "ancient" history, but certainly the Dallas Cowboys in 1993 were considered "America's Team." Aikman came to Dallas from UCLA and had been courted by baseball as well as football teams. He was the number one pick for Dallas in 1989. Two years later they made the play-offs under the leadership of Aikman and rusher Emmitt Smith. Super Bowl XXVII was the first of four Super Bowls for Aikman and the Cowboys. The book details the 1992-93 season, giving recognition to Smith and tight end Jay Novacek for their contributions to the Super Bowl victory. Along with the glossary of terms, there are resources in the back for those who want to do more research into Aikman and the Dallas Cowboys.
