Children's Literature

This book, one of many in the "MyReportLinks.com" series, presents information that students may need to learn more about report subjectsβ€”in this instance, the state of Virginia. In an interesting blend of the traditional history book with modern computer technology, readers are directed to Internet sites for more detailed information about the subjects touched upon in the book. A password on the copyright page gives readers access to the MyBook.com Web site, which links "the reader to the best Web sites, source documents and photos." The first six pages of the book provide a short introduction to these Internet connections as well as a listing of useful "report links." The subsequent five chapters briefly discuss Virginia's history, geography, economy and government. Hopefully, students will choose to read these chapters to gain an overview of Virginia history and not be tempted to go immediately to the Web sites. The book is a short and easy read, and the MyReportLinks.com Web site is easy to navigate and links students to Internet sites that make available a vast amount of information about the state of Virginia, past and present. 2003, Enslow Publishers,
