About the Author, Bob Gill

Bob Gill (b. 1931) was a freelance designer and illustrator in New York before moving to London in 1960, where he worked with Alan Fletcher and Colin Forbes in a design agency that was a precursor of Pentagram. He resumed his freelance career as an illustrator, designer, teacher, filmmaker, and author of children's books in 1967, and returned to New York in 1975. His clients have included CBS, Pirelli, Apple Corps, the Anti-Apartheid Movement, Universal Pictures, Nestlé, and the United Nations, and he has written a number of books about graphic design.
