Overview

As a boy growing up in Oklahoma, Will Rogers wanted to be a cowboy more than anything else. And even after he found success as a performer and humorist on the New York City stage, he remained a slow-talking, gum-chewing, wise-cracking, rope-throwing cowboy. Author Jane A. Schott and illustrator David Charles Brandon team up to bring Rogers's colorful story to life.

Children's Literature - Judy Katsh

Will Rogers' wit and knack for helping us laugh at ourselves may not be immediately accessible to young children. But thanks to this new biography by Jane Schott, they'll at least get to know about his life and times. It's a good introduction to the man, his personal background, and the America in which he lived and laughed. Biography fans have a treat in store.
