Denise Daley - Children's Literature

Little Billy is growing into a big boy yet he is uncertain about sleeping in a new "big boy" bed. Billy likes his crib where everything is comfortable and familiar. Still, Billy's parents have a new bed put together in Billy's room. That first night Billy slept in his crib and the "big boy" bed seemed like a nasty monster. The next morning, however, Billy cannot resist playing on his new bed. He even moves some of his stuffed bears on top of it. But at bedtime Billy runs straight to his crib. Billy's parents understand his doubt and they are patient and reassuring. Within a few days Billy realizes that he is indeed growing into a "big boy" and he decides to accept this change with pride. This book will help parents prepare their young children for some of the many transitions that their children will soon encounter. Filled with many warm watercolor illustrations, this book helps children learn that being scared of change is often a normal part of growing up.
