About the Author, Rebecca J. Blink

Rebecca Blink has been an educator for over fifteen years as a classroom teacher, a District Reading Specialist, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and a District Data Manager. She has master’s degrees in reading education and educational administration and received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2005. In 1999, Dr. Blink began her quest for valid and reliable data in relation to student achievement in order to better service the students from the district in which she worked. Finding district level school improvement frameworks very limited in this area, Blink developed her own Data Driven Instructional System (DDIS) model to assist school districts with school improvement planning through her dissertation work at the University of Wisconsin – Madison
