Children's Literature

Gil the ant can't figure out where he is. As he moves around in his environment, kids get a look at various objects and can make their own guesses. They will feel proud when they figure out where Gil is before he arrives at the same answer. This particular adventure takes place in the kitchen, starting in the kitchen sink. Eventually Gil makes it safely outside where he rejoins his friends. A very early reader that will appeal to Antz movie fans as well as others. The introduction describes the levels in the "Green Light Reader" series and provides some helpful tips to those working with kids. There is also a very brief blurb and photo of the illustrator. A Level 1 book. 2000, Harcourt, and $3.95. Ages 5 to 7. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
