About the Author, John C. Peterson

John C. Peterson is a retired instructor from Chattanooga State Technical Community College, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He belongs to the Mathematical Association of America, the American Mathematical Society, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Tennessee Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges, and the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association. He is the 1995 recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award given by the Chattanooga State Foundation and the Co-Project Investigator of the National Science Foundation funded project, Technical Mathematics for Tomorrow: Recommendations and Exemplary Programs.

William J. de Kryger is ASE certified as a Master Technician and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He began his automotive career working as a professional technicial in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hollywood, California, and Honolulu, Hawaii. He is currently a member of the Department of Engineering and Technology and Professor of Automotive Technology at Central Michigan University. Other professional responsibilities include: Expert Witness for automotive cases; Automotive Arbitrator for the National Center of Dispute Settlement; annual Study Abroad Group Leader to Vladimir State University, Vladimir, Russia; and annual Visiting Professor of Automotive Technology to Instituto Tecnologico Y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Toluca, Mexico.
