Purpose: The purpose of this second edition is to provide new, updated, and effective methods of managing care of wounds of all types. New products appear continually on the market, and in this book, experts recommend the products they have found most effective.
Audience: The intended audience is all nurse clinicians and practitioners who care for patients with wounds. Guidelines must be followed rigorously to promote healing and prevent infection. Other groups who would benefit from the book are faculty and nursing students, medical students, and nurse administrators in all health care settings.

Assessment: I highly recommend this book, particularly for those nurses who care for patients who are subject to wounds: persons with diabetes; debilitated patients who are prone to the development of pressure ulcers; and patients with either arterial or venous circulation problems. This paperback book is light, easy to carry, and specific information is readily available about all aspects of wounds and wound care.
