Gr 4-7-- More tribute than straightforward biography, this volume looks at the life of the founder and CEO of Nike, Inc. It's too adulatory to recommend easily; controversies such as Operation Push's attempted boycott of the company's products, staged to prod it into more minority hiring, are given a definite pro-Nike slant. Knight is represented as virtually flawless. The book is billed as an ``economic biography'' because of its glossary of business jargon and sidebars exploring such things as promoting a product and the importance of quality.
