Synopsis

Fun new chunky Sparkly Board Books that include four big pull-tab surprises. A cuddly cat takes you on the tour of "Sparkly Farm" where the baby animals are not quite what you expect. Check out "Sparkly Garden" and "Sparkly Ocean" for more magical glittering creatures. For ages 2-5.

Children's Literature

A board book with window slides is no real surprise, but these are particularly difficult to pull. The die cut cover reveals the first image, sort of. When the cover is opened, a cat is resting on a fence and the text asks if the listener can find the sparkly lamb. Pulling the tab/slide reveals a shiny, silvery sheep. On the next page, cat is joined by cow and they are looking for the golden calf. The red horse is supposedly magical, which then leads to the goose that lays a golden egg. The little cat appears on each spread and provides some continuity. As for learning colors or about any real animals, there is not much to be found in this book. The big attraction is the "sparkly" illustrations. Additional titles in the series include Sparkly Garden and Sparkly Ocean. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
