Britton presents a vivid picture of Air Force One and of the Alamo. She shares insight into the founding of the Smithsonian and its dual mission of increasing knowledge through research and diffusing knowledge by collecting material and mounting exhibits. In Memorial, she offers a balanced discourse on the controversies surrounding the Vietnam War and the design competition for the memorial. The glossaries and indexes in these books will aid students involved in research, but some may find each title simply an enjoyable read.-Pamela K.
