Purpose:The main purpose is to explain neuroscience in the context of a variety of clinical scenarios.
Audience:Medical, nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy students are the main audience.
Features:Four authors contribute the 48 real-life clinical cases, and a couple of unique features set this apart from other review tools. First, the presentation of clinical cases fits right into the current needs of health science students, since it reflects their real-life experience and the usefulness of neuroscience. Second, it merges bench science with clinical practice and allows students to better grasp difficult neuroscience concepts. Incorporation of neuroscience pearls at the end of each chapter helps the student focus on the key points. The illustrations are adequate and the references, up to date.

About the Author, Eugene C. Toy

Eugene C. Toy, MD is a dual certified family physician and ob/gyn and is Academic Chief and Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, where he is also actively involved in teaching medical students.

Rahul Jandial, MD is a lecturer and attending neurologist in the Division of Neurosurgery - UCSD Medical Center and at The Center for Neurosciences and Aging - The Burnham Institute for Medical Research in San Diego, CA.
