Children's Literature
A breezily written, vastly informative book, this is a fine introduction to the sport for Pop Warner wannabes. In clear, often clever language, Crossingham explains the rules and regs and different kinds of plays, and offers tips for optimum results. The illustrations include female as well as male players, which is encouraging. This would be a great book for a classroom or library shelf, as well as a good gift idea for the next generation's Knute Rocknes. Part of the "Sports in Action" series. 2001, Crabtree, $19.96 and $5.95. Ages 8 up. Reviewer:Donna FreedmanBook Details
