Quarter horses do not look very heavy, but they have well-developed muscles. These muscles enable the Quarter Horse to burst into a full gallop from a standing start or to come to a quick stop. These horses have friendly eyes that catch even the tiniest movement, and powerful jaws and strong teeth to cut through the toughest grasses. Quarter horses get energy from food that other range animals cannot eat. They are a cowhand's best partner, because they have the courage to run in herds of cattle and can separate calves out for branding or medication. And for trivia lovers, Trigger, Roy Rogers' famous horse, was a quarter horse.
