Gr 5-8-- A brief overview of the U. S. Marine Corps. The smoothly written, fast-reading text describes in short segments its history, development, equipment, and current responsibilities. Special attention is also given to enlistment qualifications, boot camp, and promotion procedures. Desert Shield and Desert Storm are mentioned. The text has wide margins, and is printed on high quality nonglare paper. Black-and-white photos appear on virtually every page; many of the older ones are of vintage quality.
