Gr 5-8-Two fine introductions to the U.S. Armed Forces. Each title contains an excellent section that looks at the origins of the service and traces its combat history in America's wars. The chapters on weapons and equipment are also well done. Both attractive volumes are profusely illustrated with black-and-white and full-color photographs and reproductions that show the operations of these branches of the military on land, sea, and in the air. Glossaries of common Marine and Coast Guard terms are included, as are listings of their ranks and ratings.
