Children's Literature

Have you ever wondered where tigers live? This simple book will explain what happens as baby tigers grow up in the wild. The beautiful photographs show young and old tigers in the wild. The pictures support the text well, and young children will be able to see how their stripes can hide them in the grass, what threats exist with the tigers, etc. The pictures are very tasteful, and even the picture of the tigers eating an antelope is tastefully done, and appropriate for a young child to see. The text is very simple, so that young children will be able to understand the basic habits of a tiger. The end of the book includes a glossary of words that may be difficult for a young child to understand, a list of child safe websites where more information about tigers can be found, and a list of books for additional reading and learning. The book is well written, and will be helpful to many teachers and parents who are teaching about animals in the wild. Part of the "In the Wild" series. 2003, Raintree Steck-Vaughn Publishers,
