Children's Literature - Joyce Rice

All around you, things are moving because of forces that either push or pull. We cannot always see the force that causes the movement, like when the wind blows the leaves on a tree, but it is there. Topics discussed include gravity, magnets, air and wind force, water force and levers. Experiments are given for each of these areas. Introductory notes for teachers and parents give additional ways that science concepts may be presented, and the corresponding pages for that topic. This is part of the "Young Scientists" series and is an excellent introduction to science for the upper elementary student. This entire series would be a worthwhile purchase for the elementary classroom or the middle school classroom for students with reading difficulties.
