You can make many different sounds with your voice. You can also make sounds by just blowing into a bottle. You can make sounds by tapping an object with a stick or pencil. Readers will need little encouragement to add ways that they can make sounds. Experiments included here will help them to develop higher order thinking skills as they explore sounds and music. Notes have been included for teachers and parents to further teach these concepts. This is part of the "Young Scientists" series and is an excellent introduction to science for the upper elementary student. This entire series would be a worthwhile purchase for the elementary classroom or the middle school classroom for students with reading difficulties.
